Book To Read List

Happy Monday! This past week I have been a little under the weather and life has been hectic but I am back. Although I have not finished a new book this week I did want to keep up with Book Review Monday. Therefore, instead of a book review, I will be leaving you will the 5 books I want to read in the next coming weeks. Enjoy!

  1. ‘Goodnight from London’ by Jennifer Robson. This takes place during wartime in the summer of 1940. A reporter heads to London for a news story only for war to break out. I love historical fiction books and this one looks like a winner!
  2. ‘Black Water Lillies’ by Michel Bussi. This story that takes place in France revolves around a murder that takes place in French artist Monet’s village. Surprising to most I absolutely love detective and criminal mystery shows. I find it fascinating trying to solve the mystery before the characters do. That being said I love these types of books too. This book looks like it will be right up my alley.
  3. ‘The Dark Days Club’ by Alison Goodman. This novel is another one that takes place in London. This time in 1812. I guess I really like books that take place in other places too. In this story Helen, a young ‘Lady of the Queen’, has her housemaid disappear. Helen proceeds to investigate in London where she meets Lord Carlton, who helps her on her journey. This book combines two of my favorite genres, mystery and historical fiction, and I am super excited to read it.
  4. ‘Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine’ by Gail Honeyman. In this novel quirky Eleanor has such bad social anxiety she completely avoids any and all social interactions. This soon becomes a thing of the past when Eleanor meets Raymond and the two of them save an elderly man together when he falls. Soon the three become friends and Eleanor begins to emerge from her bubble. I can not wait to read this book. I have heard nothing but great things about this book, and while when I first read a description of the book I was not initially drawn to it, I have since felt nothing more than to read this book.
  5. ‘I’ve Got Your Number’ by Sophia Kinsella. In this novel Poppy is about to marry the man of her dreams. Her life is going just the way she always pictured it. However, this all changes when she loses her engagement ring AND has her phone stolen. She soon finds a lost phone in a trash can and takes it over as her own so that she can give the hotel she is staying at a number to call. However, this turns out tobe not such a good idea when the real owner of the phone wants it back. What proceeds to happen is emails and text messages between Poppy and the business man, Sam, as she looks for her ring and prepares for her wedding. In the past Sophia Kinsella has been a favorite author of mine. The premise of this novel seems to be just the type of thing that could draw me in for a day of reading by the pool. That is exactly where I think I will be reading this book. From the mystery of the ring, to the romance between multiple characters in the book, I can tell that this is just my type of book.

Happy reading everyone!

Review: Maybelline Fit Me Foundation, Matte and Poreless

When I am picking out a foundation I generally am not drawn to drugstore foundations. Often I feel they do not blend nicely and emphasize my textured skin. I am always open to trying new foundations though and have found many that I absolutely love. The foundation I want to encourage everyone to try is Maybelline’s Fit Me Foundation. There are multiple types in this line depending on your skin concern, but the one I’ve been trying is the Matte and Poreless foundation. This foundation comes in a 1.0 0z bottle. At Ulta it retails for $7.99.

Maybelline’s Matte and Poreless foundation provides medium coverage and gives a matte finish. Although it claims to be buildable I had trouble building coverage up with both a beauty blender and a brush. While I would only consider it medium coverage this foundation definitely evened out my skin tone. After applying the foundation, while I could still see some acne spots and dark spots and circles, I could know longer see any redness and the overall tone of my skin was more even.

The finish is definitely smooth and matte, although it did need powder on top of it as it still felt tacky a few minutes after applying. Overall I really liked how my pores looked smoother. On my forehead and one of my cheeks looked completely pore-less. My left cheek and chin are naturally more textured and while they did not look completely pore-less with this foundation on, they were considerably smoother looking. I tried out this foundation with multiple primers underneath and powders overtop with the same results each time.

When it comes to texture of this foundation I would say this product is a lot more liquid like than a lot of other foundations that I prefer. Although I generally wear liquid foundation only I find most foundations to be thicker and creamier than the Maybelline Matte and Poreless. This foundation was a lot runnier than I was expecting. A lot more foundation was required to get less than the same amount of coverage I am used to. I think the consistency of the product had a lot to do with the coverage I was given. It seemed to be a very water based foundation. However, for days I am wanting less coverage, it was perfect.

What I really liked about this foundation is that it did not seem to cling to any dry patches on my skin. I have a very dry forehead and nose. A lot of times foundations will cling to and emphasize these dry spots. With this foundation I did not notice this problem at all. My forehead remained smooth looking the whole time I was wearing the foundation which is definitely impressive in my book.

If  you are looking for a drugstore foundation that gives you a finish that is as pore-less as such more expensive foundations I would definitely give this product a try. I would definitely say with certainly that this is my favorite drugstore foundations and I will be repurchasing this item. Let me know down below what your favorite drugstore foundation is!

Beauty Review: L’oreal Infallible Paints Metallics Eyeshadow

If you know anything about me then you probably already know that I love anything sparkly. That includes all things metallic! Lucky for me, metallics are all over the place in the makeup world lately. I have heard that in the coming months the metallic makeup trend is going to just keep getting bigger and more popular. This is great news for me as I surely am participating in the trend. I am

so ecstatic about it that when I saw the L’Oreal Infallible Paints Metallics EyeshadowI just had to pick them up and give them a try. Today I will let you know what I think about this new product.

Currently, there are only 5 shades available in this new release. The colors are beautiful but I loved them so much that I hope they come out with some new shades! Maybe in a nice rose gold shade…The eyeshadow arrives in a plastic square container with a see through top. My problem, though it is a small one, is that the name of the shade is on a piece of tape that helps close the lid. If you rip that like I did you have no way of knowing the name of the color. Now how am I supposed to remember the name? It would be a better choice to have the name of the color on the actual container. The eyeshadow themselves are a pretty big size for the price. Currently, they are $7.99 at Target where I bought mine, but at Ulta, they are $8.99. However, at Ulta, they are buy one, get one, half off. You can use these eyeshadows in multiple ways such as with your finger or with a shader brush. They can also be used either dry, or if you prefer a more metallic look, wet.

When I was at Target I picked up two of these shades. I had wanted to pick up the silver shade too but unfortunately, they were sold out. When using this product for the first time I fell in love with the texture. The eyeshadows are a power but when used with your fingers they have a very creamy feel and application. They are beyond pigmented. I only needed one swipe to get a completely opaque look. I at first applied with my figure but after decided I wanted a more metallic look. While the shadow was beautiful it looked more glittery than metallic. To increase the metal look of the shadow I decided to go in with a wet shader brush for a second coat. When I went in with the wet shader brush the eyeshadow became extremely metallic with an almost foiled look.

For the most part, I had no problems with the shadow. However, I will say that this shadow did have some fall out even with applying eye shadow primer as a base. I did not notice this problem at first but after a few hours of wear I did have some creasing and fall out. In the future, I would love to try out how it wears with a different eyeshadow primer. Overall, I believe it is definitely worth it to buy this shadows to add to your collection so go out and pick one up!

Book Review: The Last Letter from Your Lover

Hello, and welcome back! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Today I bring to you another Book Review Monday. I have another amazing book for you today! Today I am reviewing “The Last Letter From Your Lover” by JoJo Moyes. Just like last week I will begin with information about the book, before moving  on to a summary, and then finish with my thoughts on the book. Enjoy, and let me know what books you recommend I read next!

Information: This book was published in 2011 by Penguin Books. It is 432 pages long. The book is classified as contemporary. GoodRead gives the book 3.94 stars out of 5. It won the Romantic Novel of the Year Award from GoodReads in 2011.

Summary: It is the year 1960 when Jennifer wakes up in a London hospital. She has been in a car crash and has no memory of any events leading up to the crash or how it happened. The novel flashes back and forth from events leading up to the accident, to Jennifer’s life trying to regain her memory, and what she is lead to believe is the perfect marriage.

As Jennifer searches for clues to aid in her memory recovery she finds old love letters written to her by a man she can’t remember but seems familiar. A former lover who only signs the letters with his initial. With this information Jennifer becomes determined to find out who this mysterious man is, and what happened to him.

In the coming months Jennifer realizes her marriage to rich and influential Laurence is not what it seems. Their whole marriage has been a façade of glamour, power, and money. Behind closed doors though, their marriage has not a bit of love or compassion and is falling apart. Soon Jennifer is unable to hide her unhappiness any longer and confronts Laurence, who finally comes clean that he knows what caused her accident and who the mysterious writer is.

Just as Jennifer begins to track down her former lover the book moves 40 years to the future. Here we meet Ellie, a reporter at a newspaper. Reminiscent of Jennifer’s life, Ellie herself is having her own affair and struggling with her news career. While doing research for an article Ellie finds a letter written to Jennifer from the mysterious lover. Ellie makes it her mission to find Jennifer and the writer of the letter and see what has become of them, and their story.

My Thoughts: When I began reading this book I could not have been more excited. Having read some of JoJo Moyes other books I knew right away that I would be sucked in from the very first page. Throughout the book I could really feel the full range of emotions of main character Jennifer. Every tear, every smile, every ounce of love that the character felt, I I felt as if it was my own.

This seems to be true of every book written by the talented JoJo Moyes. Her books never fail to make me both cry, and smile. Sometimes in the very same page. This author has an amazing talent for not just telling you the story, but making you see and feel the story through all 5 senses. It is not just reading a book, but a full literary experience when you open one of her novels.

“The Last Letter from Your Lover” made me question what would I do if I was in the same situation that Jennifer is in. How would I feel if there was someone out there who I knew I was meant to be with, but I didn’t even know his name or where to find him. If all I had were a series of letters written from him to me. I would like to think that I would have the strength and courage to go and find him. That I would be able to give up everything to find this man, no matter how long it took. Honestly though, I am not so sure I would have the courage.

I again with end this post with my favorite quote from this novel. “Somewhere in this world is a man who loves you, who understands how precious and clever and kind you are. A man who has always loved you and, to his detriment, suspects he always will.” I hope everyone finds time this week to pick up a book you’ve been wanting to read. Happy reading.

A Letter to Myself

Throwback to my sophomore year of college!

It’s hard to believe it but it’s been over two years ago now since I graduated college. Time has flown by. It feels like it was just yesterday that I was stopping by Starbucks on the way to my next class or event. Lately I have thought a lot about what I wish I had known during my college years that I know now. If I could talk to my 18-year-old self, what would I say? I might say something like this.

Hi Michelle,

Your probably wondering who this is. It’s me, or I guess you could say you, at 24. You just graduated high school right? About to move off to Florida but start your college adventure in Pennsylvania! If I remember correctly you are equal parts nervous and excited. So much is going to happen over the next few years. I wanted to check in with you and give you some insight on the next four years of your life. Just some advice from me to, well, me.

Your start of your freshman year of college will be exhilarating. You are in a totally new place, surround by new people, and new expectations. Sure, you are going to have fun but you’ll be homesick too. It is hard being so far away from home, but the experience of being so far from everyone is going to make you stronger. I’ll let you in on a little secret. You are only going to be here for a semester before moving back home and taking classes online for a semester. By fall of sophomore year you will move away from home again and be attending the University of South Florida. It will be the best decision that you make in your college career!

You should be very proud of all you’re are going to accomplish during your college career. Some of your classes will be rough at the start but you will power through and succeed. All of those long nights and days studying at the library will one day be worth it. But remember you don’t have to be perfect. Yes, I know that you are a perfectionist and want everything to be just right. But you need to know that it is important to relax and take care of yourself. One grade will not make or break you. College is not just about your gpa and being the best. It is a time to learn who you are and have fun. Don’t get hung up on the little things. Everything will work its self out in the end.

After sophomore year you are going to join a cohort for your major and spend the next two years having the same 34 girls in all of your classes. A couple will leave but for the most part you will not see anyone else in your classes but this point forward. But no worries! Everyone in this group of girls will become super close. By graduation you will feel like family. These girls will become your support system. Lean on these girls and enjoy the time you have with them. They will get you through some tough times.

To be honest you are not going to have the best luck with roommates the first few years of college. But don’t worry, it doesn’t last. You will have fun with your roommate your fall semester freshman year but you already knew her. Sophomore year your roommate is nice but you don’t get super close and your suite-mates are loud and crazy. Junior year your living situation in your new apartment is tough. Your roommates don’t talk to you and when they do it is basic small talk. You will feel awkward living here this year and will spend much of your time on campus or at other friends’ dorms and apartments. Senior year this all drastically changes! You will move into a new, super nice apartment complex with one of your best friends from your cohort and another one of your friends. You guys will have another random roommate who makes things awkward for bit, (serious, what was going on with her), but soon she decides to leave and you guys get a new roommate who is awesome. You all will get along well and have so much fun. I’ll tell you now that it will be the greatest time ever-living with one of your best friends and getting to hand out 24/7! You will miss it when you move out.

Speaking of roommates you are going to make so many good friends in college. During your college classes, you will get close to a good majority of your classmates. They say college classes are tough and boring, but once you are in your cohort classes will start to feel like hanging out with a bunch of your friends. You will grow together and experience both tough moments, and times where you couldn’t imagine life without each and every one of them. You will have a lot of fun together outside of classes too. There are so many things you will do, and experience together and you will never forget any of these moments. From study groups, Starbucks, a wedding, dinner with the cohort, a cruise, and more, there is so much you are going to do and enjoy over the next 4 years. Years later you will look back and truly see how lucky you were to make such good friends.

The next few years are going to have a lot of ups and downs. You are going to go through a lot of tough, and at times scary things, but you are also going to enjoy some of the very best moments of your life. Try not to hurry it along hoping to be done. One day down the road, you are going to wish you could do it all over again.

Most importantly, remember to have fun and enjoy it. It goes by way to fast.

If you could send your younger self a letter would you? What would it say?

Youtube Made Me Buy It

Hello my lovely friends and welcome back! Today we are going to talk about one of my favorite things. Can anyone guess what that is? If you guessed makeup you would be correct. You deserve a prize! Go on and get yourself a treat before reading the rest of this post.

When it comes to makeup I am willing to try just about anything, no matter what it is. Just like a lot of girls, one of my favorite places to go to find makeup ideas is YouTube. A lot of times I will watch a video and convince myself that I have to try a product out myself. Today I am going to share with you some of the products I have bought after watching a YouTube video, and if it was worth it. In order to stop this review from being a million years long, I have only included a few products. But don’t you worry. I am sure to do more reviews like this in the future!

Brows: The first item, and my only brow product in this post, is Ka-Brow by Benefit. A couple of months ago this product was all over YouTube. When I saw the cute packaging, combined with the cream-gel texture, I knew I had to give it a go. The first few times I used this product I absolutely love it. It was easy to use and I absolutely loved the texture of the product. It lasts all day even if the rest of my makeup melts off. However, I absolutely do not like the brush that comes with it. While at first it was fine and I loved the size of the brush, eventually I realized how terrible it is. After just a few months of using it, the hairs on the brush are fraying and falling out. Now, I don’t know if maybe I am just doing something wrong, but I hate this brush. While I will still purchase this product in the future, I think I will find a new brush to go with it.

Face: The next product I am going to discuss is a concealer that everyone on YouTube has been talking about this past year. Yes, I am talking about Tarte’s Shape Tape. Before I bought this product I thought it was completely overhyped and there was no way that the product was as good as everyone was talking about. I am so glad I was proved wrong! This stuff is amazing! Not only does it completely cover everything you could want it to, the application gives you a completely flawless finish. It doesn’t even need a powder to set it, although I admit I do still use one. The huge doe-foot applicator makes applying this concealer so easy too. My favorite way to use it, is under my eyes for a very highlighted under but it is great for covering redness and blemishes too. Unfortunately, the downside is that you can only get it at Ulta. That has not deterred me from buying multiple tubes of it though.

Another face product I want to talk about is Physician’s Formula’s Butter Bronzer. This is yet another product that I absolutely love! I at first bought it because everyone was saying how good it is for lighter skin tones, and they were totally right! There are two shades of this product and after falling in love with the lighter shade I went out and bought the darker shade when it came out. But shades work perfectly for light skin. I use the lighter shade when I am on the paler side and the darker shade works great when I have a slight tan going on. Not only are the shades great but it applies smoothly (I mean it is called butter bronzer after all, and it smells AMAZING! Like a tropical vacation built into a makeup product.

Eyes: I think out of any other makeup product my favorite has got to be eyes. That being said, I have a ton of eye products that YouTube had made me buy. Today I have narrowed it down to two eye products that I am going to share with you. The first is the Urban Decay eye primer potion. Years and years ago, when I was just starting to get into makeup, this stuff was everywhere. It seemed like just about everyone was using it. Years laters, while it isn’t my favorite, I am still using it. I liked it even better when they came out with the squeeze out tube than I did when it had the doe foot applicator. Sadly, they went back to the doe foot applicator. Now there is nothing special about this stuff, it doesn’t give you special powers and make you Wonder Woman, but it works. When I use this product not only does it make my makeup more pigmented, it makes it last all day.

The other eye product I am talking about today is the BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel eyeshadow palette. Unfortunately only the deluxe version is now available so you can’t get this exact same one. Obviously I heard about this on YouTube from watching Carli Bybel herself! I was so excited for this product to come out. When I got my hands on it I swatched it right away. These shadows swatch wonderfully! There are definitely one or two shadows that lack the pigment and don’t swatch nicely but most of them are so pigmented and creamy. When you apply them on the eye they go on smoothly and just as pigmented, and they blend well. Unfortunately I have a little trouble with the lasting power on these shadows. For some reason no matter what I used to apply them, and what primer I use, these do not last on my eyes for very long. This is especially weird as usually eye shadow lasts on me all day. The funny thing is, remember when I said there were one or two shades that didn’t swatch that nicely? Well these shades stay on my eyes longer than the others do. Go figure.

Lips: The lip product I am sharing with you today is the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. I feel like every beauty guru on YouTube has raved about this product so of course I had to have it to. I am so glad I bought it because now I am obsessed with it Now only is the applicator wonderful but it really does last all day, and on me at least it doesn’t make my lips look dry like some other liquid lipsticks do. It also doesn’t have an offensive smell or taste like I have found some other lip products to have. The colors are all beautiful and in the future I definitely want some more of this product in various shades.

Well there you have it. Some of the beauty items that I have bought because of YouTube. Of course I definitely have more products than that I was influenced to buy, and I am sure I will be influenced in the future too. That’s just the life of a makeup lover! I hope everyone is inspired to go and do something fun with their makeup using some makeup you bought from YouTube. Have fun lovelies!

Periwinkle and Denim

Top: off the shoulder top (old Nordstrom Rack, similar linked) | Skirt: denim skirt (old Target, similar linked) | Shoes: Rose Gold Tieks | WatchKate Spade Watch

Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is having a fantastic day! I know I am. I’m here with a short outfit post for you. One of the things that you should know about me is that I absolutely love clothing and fashion. If it is girly or brightly colored it probably will catch my eye.

Lately though, I have wanted to step outside the box and try new things in regard to my style. So when I saw this denim 70’s inspired skirt at Target I just had to grab it. I bought it thinking I would probably where it once and it would end up in the back of my closet, especially being that I am not the biggest fan of 70s inspired pieces. Boy was I wrong! I have fallen in love with this skirt and can’t wait to continue wearing it.

I paired this skirt with a simple periwinkle, off the shoulder top I picked up at Nordstrom Rack, figuring it would be a perfect basic top to go with the skirt. I love the way the pieces coordinate. You can’t see them in the photograph but I accessorized with a simple rose gold Kate Spade watch, and my Rose Gold Tieks. I may be a tad obsessed with anything and everything rose gold. Pink, gold, sparkle, what more could a girl ask for?!

In the coming months I am really looking forward to stepping out of my comfort zone and trying some new styles. That is not to say there won’t continue being lots of sparkle, glam, and pink in my life, trust me there will be plenty of that, but I want to push myself beyond what I am comfortable with. Here’s to trying new things! Both in style, and in life. Happy shopping everyone!

Skin Care Routine

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Welcome to my blog. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day wherever you are! Today we are going to dive into the topic of skin-care. Now I’ve never been one of those people who have terrible skin on my face. Of course I have always gotten a blemish here or there but for the most part I considered myself lucky. That is, until recently. Over the past few months I have noticed that my skin has taken a turn for the worse and it got me thinking ‘Yikes’. I started to notice that I was getting more cystic acne, particularly around my lower cheeks and jawline. Not only that but my forehead and nose had become extremely dry and the texture on my cheeks was suddenly extremely bumpy. I didn’t know what had happened to skin, but I did know that something had to be done about! With this realization I stepped into action and started a whole new skin care routine. Today I am here to share with you what I am using and a review on if I like it. Who knows, if you are having skin issues maybe these products will hope you too!

Each night before bed I start off my skin care routine by taking off my makeup. Often times I am wearing a full face of makeup, and I know that if I don’t take if off before bed I am only ruining my skin. Not only that but I would probably wind up looking like something out of a horror movie if I didn’t take it off before bed! Not a pretty picture. The first product I always use is the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I apply this to a cotton round, (I’m not picky about which ones), and gently run over my skin. I have to say that I love this product! It effectively removes all of my face makeup with only one or two cotton rounds and it has no offensive smell! Not only that, you get a lot of product for such a low price, and a little really does go a long way. The next product I use is the Neutrogena Oil-Free Makeup Remover. To be honest I am not the biggest fan of this stuff. Sure it does its job of removing my makeup. Actually it is fantastic at this. However, I do not understand how it is considered oil-free. Whenever I apply this product I feel like I just threw a vat of oil and slime on my eyes and I do not enjoy this. Maybe I am using it wrong, but I am not a fan of this stuff. The last thing I do to remove my makeup is using a makeup removing wipe. This ensures that there is no left over makeup on my face. Right now I am using the Cetephil Cleansing Cloths I consistently have problems with face wipes giving me a rash so I am very picky when choosing what I buy but these are fantastic! They are great for sensitive skin and a good price. These get an A+ in my book.

The next part of my skin care routine is actually washing face. Lately I have been really into researching skin care. One of the things often suggested is washing the face twice. In my journey to better skin I decided to give this technique a try. The first thing I wash with is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel. Hold up! Didn’t I just get finished saying I did not like the Neutrogena eye makeup remover? Why am I using another one of their products too!? You would be right in thinking this. I must be crazy, right? Now I am going to stop you in your tracks because this stuff is AMAZING. Originally I wanted to trying it out because of its claim to be hydrating and I figured that is just what my skin needs. This product is just that. It is hydrating beyond belief and helps my skin feel extremely soft. Not only that, but this stuff has a crazy good scent to it. After using this product I move go on to the Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub. Yes, I use yet another Neutrogena product. I guess one not so good product doesn’t mean they are doomed. This product is pretty good. I love how the exfoliant beads in this do not feel gritty and it really is gentle. The scrub exfoliates my face without being to harsh. Overall it is a pretty good product. Not amazing by any means, but not terrible either!

Once or twice a week after I wash my face, I go in with a Mud Mask. Lately, I have loved with a capital ‘L’, this mask from Formula 10.0.6. It is their Pores Be Pure Mud Mask. Before I picked this up I had never heard of this brand but I am so glad I know about them now because this mask is great. Not only does it really clear out my pores but it leaves my skin glowing! I will admit it does burn a little, so if you don’t like that this may not be for you. However, I do not mind the sensation. After 15 minutes I remove the mask with warm water and follow it by using another product from Formula 10.0.6. I am using their Best Face Forward Daily Foaming Cleanser. Even though I have at this point already washed my face twice, I like to use this to make sure the face mask is all off my skin. I really do like this product and I am excited to try more skin care from the brand! The last part of my face washing is using a toner. I use this whether I have used a face mask or not. As of now I am using the VICHY Perfecting Toner. Are you guys ready for some truth time? I do not like this toner. Not one bit. When I use this I do not feel like it does anything to my skin. I was hoping I would feel like it was finishing the cleansing of my face but I do not get this impact. Perhaps I was expecting too much from this product. Fine, it does have one redeeming quality. It does not burn at all. In fact it feels like you are putting just your regular tap water on your face. I guess that’s a good thing. Maybe? Or maybe not.

The last part of my skin routine is moisturizing. I begin with the Natural Kick ‘Let It Glow’ Serum. I originally bought the product because of it’s name. Comment below if you get the reference! However, I soon realized that it really does lead to glowing skin. It is only available online but it is worth it to pick this stuff up. Next I go in with my moisturizer. I am using the St. Ives Timeless Skin collagen elastin moisturizer. While I realize that I have no need for a collagen elastin product, I really do like this moisturizer. First things off you get a lot of product for the price. The tub I have has 10 oz of product! That is a lot! On top of that it is soothing and makes my skin so soft. I wake up in the morning and my face still feels like a baby’s bottom! Besides, it is never to early for wrinkle prevention right? After my moisturizer I go in with another product from the brand Formula 10.0.6. I like to go in with their PM Perfector which is an overnight hydrating cream. This heavy night cream really does help lock in the moisture. The last product I use before heading off to bed is the Pure Body Naturals STEM Cell Eye Gel. I pat this around my eyes as a prevention treatment. I really do like the applicator of this product as it dispenses the perfect amount of gel. Unfortunately though this stuff burns even more than I can handle.

There you have it. My skin care routine as of now! In the months I have used them I really do see a difference in my skin. I don’t know if it is one of these products or something else but if you are looking for some new skin care it may be worth it to try some of these products! What skin care are you currently using? I am always open to trying new products so sound off below with what skin care you are obsessing over! I can’t wait to try them out.

Book Review Monday: It Ends With Us

Hello lovely viewers!

It’s been a while but I am back and ready for action with this little blog of mine! Since I started this blog I have not been very active but that is about to change. Get readyfor more regular updates on all things beauty, fashion, and lifestyle!

To start things off I thought I would do a book review. I am planning on doing these weekly so please feel free to give me your book suggestions. I am constantly reading and am always looking for recommendations!

One of the books I finished most recently is It Ends WithUs by Colleen Hoover. In order to give you an unbiased feel for the book I have first included some general information on the book. I will then go into a plot summary and at the end of my post I will include my thoughts on the book. Please let me know for future book posts if you like this formatting!

Information: This book, published in 2016, is 367 pages long. The book is classified as contemporary. GoodRead gives the book 4.45 stars out of 5. It also won the 2016 GoodReadChoice Award for Romance.

Summary: Lily has always worked hard for what she has. Recently she has graduated from college and made the move to Boston. Not happy in her current career path she decides to follow her dream to quit her job and open her own business. Just her luck, around the same time she opens her business, she runs intothe gorgeous Ryle Kincaid. The one man who inspired her to go after her dream months earlier. How much better can life get?!

Ryle is the man of Lily’s dreams. Confident, bold, and career-driven, Ryle knows what he wants, and what he wants is Lily. Only problem is, he doesn’t want an actual relationship and that is all Lily hopes for. However, Lily proves to be his one weakness.

Ryle’s fear of commitment gets Lilly thinking about her first love Atlas Corrigan. The one that got away. Soon Atlas reappears and has Lily questioning what, and who she wants.

In this novel, Hoover has readers questioning what exactly it is you want in life and what is more important. Your dream and career, or your one true love?

My Thoughts: Let me start out by saying this book is absolutely phenomenal! Inspiring, raw, beautiful, this book is one of the best books I have read in a while. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who asks! The whole time I was reading I did not want to put this book down. I stayed up late into the night soaking up this book.

From the very first page you can truly see what a talented author Colleen Hover is. Her storytelling skills and lyrical writing are something to be envious of.

The main character of this novel, Lily, is the type of woman everyone should inspire to be. She is not afraid to go after her dreams and get what she wants in both her career and love. She refuses to settle and this is something hard to find in the heroine of many books. No matter what happens in her life Lily refuses to stop trying. She has the drive and ambition to get where she wants to go.

There is no doubt in my mind that this book deserved to win the GoodRead Choice Award in Romance. It has all the elements of an amazing story and has convinced me to read more books by Colleen Hoover. I hope everyone goes out and reads this book. Trust me when I say that it will change the way you look at love and life. I leave you with my favorite quotes of the novel “Just because we didn’t end up on the same wave, doesn’t mean we aren’t still a part of the same ocean.” Until next time my loves, happy reading!

With Love,
